Wrongful Termination in California

In California, most employee/employer relationships are considered “at-will” (employment can be terminated by either party for legal reasons at any time); employers are prohibited by law from terminating an employee for professing their lawful rights.

Under California Law, if an employer fires an employee when said employee has filed a grievance against the employer, given testimony in legal proceedings, filed a claim with workers’ compensation, or reported the employer to the government for any safety violations or illegal activity, the employer could be held accountable for unlawful firing.

If we are successful in proving that you were wrongfully terminated by your former employer, said employer may be held liable and be forced to pay monetary damages.
